Biography

Joe Massaro is Assistant Professor of Biostatistics, Mathematics and Statistics. He currently teaches Applied Statistical Methods in Clinical Trials I and II in the Department of Biostatistics. He has won several teaching awards at the School of Public Health for these courses. Joe currently also serves as Managing Director of Biostatistics and Data Management at Harvard Clinical Research Institute, a contract research organization providing statistical and data management services for the device, pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Overall, he has over 15 years experience in the design and statistical analysis of clinical trials, and has co-authored several clinical trials-related articles. Joe also performs longitudinal statistical analysis for the Framingham Heart Study, assessing risk factors for cardiovascular disease and dementia. In addition, he assists in the oversight of data management at the Framingham Heart Study. He has been with the Department of Biostatistics and the Framingham Heart Study since 1998.
